Brunel’s SS Great Britain

The SS Great Britain is the world’s first iron-hulled passenger ship that was built and launched in 1843. Explore the historic Dockyard Museum as you prepare to board the SS Great Britain itself.

With sights, sounds, and even smells, you can explore ship’s upper and below decks or peek into the luxury cabins of First-Class passengers or more humble accommodations. The site also offers a gift shop, a café, and a picnic area.

Bristol Museum & Art Gallery

Part of Bristol Museums, Bristol Museum & Art Gallery offers three floors filled with Egyptian mummies, wildlife, dinosaurs, gemstones, glass, pottery, or oriental arts.

Banksy – one of the Britain’s most popular living artists that is also the least recognised, was born in Bristol and a show of his work can also be seen here. Til this day, he keeps his identity a secret but that that hasn’t stopped his street art from gaining a massive popularity!

Clifton Suspension Bridge

Spanning the 26-foot-deep Avon George, Clifton Suspension Bridge is one of the most recognisable attractions. The bridge was completed in 1864 and measures 702 feet between its piers.

Nowadays, visitors can tour across the bridge for or to sit on the bench to enjoy the incredible city views. However, there is a £1 toll for all motor vehicles.

Bristol Cathedral

Built in the 12th century, the cathedral has many interesting features including the rectangular chapter house, late Norman decoration of zigzags, fish scale patterns, and interlacing.

The cathedral offers guided tours that are available with advance booking for all visitors.

Arnolfini Arts

An international arts centre and gallery founded in 1961 in Bristol offering programme of contemporary art exhibitions, artist’s performance, music, and dance events, poetry and much more!

This place has also its own independent bookshop and a café bar.
